Bypassing sewage during upgrades of main pumping station in Dubai Hills.
Description:
The ongoing development of Dubai Hills means regular upgrading and construction of sewers and storm drains. WJ Middle East was subcontracted by Hills and Fort Construction LLC, and working on behalf of Emaar Properties PJSC to bypass an area of sewage whilst vital works were taking place to the main pumping station in the area.
The work required WJ to use a combination of high-capacity, diesel engine driven centrifugal pumps, and submersible sewage pumps, all whilst considering the depth of the manhole which was to be entered.
Using 50m (linear distance) of HDPE discharge lines, WJ were able to divert the flows to the forced main discharge network effectively, meaning the works could be completed promptly and safely.
