Dubai Marina is one of the most ambitious and iconic urban developments in the UAE, transforming a stretch of desert coastline into a vibrant, high-density waterfront city. Built along a 3 km stretch of the Persian Gulf shoreline in Dubai and surrounded by man made canals it’s masterplan includes over 130 residential towers.
Many of the towers included basement car parks up to 8 levels deep and WJ were one of the earliest dewatering specialists involved as the contractors sought WJ’s robust dewatering designs and reliability of delivery to provide the safe and dry conditions required to undertake excavations to up to 32 m below ground level within 100 m of the sea.
Each project was carefully designed to take into account the side support which was often a combination of sheet piles, bored piles or diaphragm wall, the bottom slab detail, the internal wall, the proximity of open water and the ground conditions.
WJ went on to undertake over 30 dewatering contracts for the Marina development alone.
WJ Middle East have completed many projects globally. Click on the links below to learn more about what we do.
